HAMBURG, Germany, August 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Simple, secure and usable from any location - the latest client version 2.4 of the TeamDrive synchronisation software has been awarded the data protection seal of approval. The IT certificate from the renowned Independent Centre for Data Protection in Germany, (ULD) certifies TeamDrive's high security standards. This means that TeamDrive unreservedly fulfils the requirements of data protection.
The successful software developer from Hamburg was able to achieve this goal by using automatic 256 bit AES encryption of all data in the client computers prior to transfer to an external data centre, where the data is stored. The special feature of this process is the end-to-end encryption.
True to the TeamDrive motto "my data belongs to me", every user retains complete control over his or her documents. Users can also choose between using the TeamDrive cloud or the user's own server. Despite the simple handling, TeamDrive has very high security standards. TeamDrive ensures that the latest versions of all files and documents are always available to the members of a team, even offline.
"Encrypted data management, indicators to show the latest version of a file, automatic back-ups and the encrypted transfer of data reliably protect the user from loss of data," explains TeamDrive CEO Volker Oboda. Unauthorised persons, particularly system administrators and service providers, have no access to the data, according to Henry Krasemann from ULD.
With only three clicks of a mouse, users can transform folder content into a secure space. Users can then use and process this folder content with as many personally invited users as they like. It is possible to exchange documents from OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, PDFs, photos, videos, music and all other standard file formats.
