Mendez Foundation Launches Revised Edition of 'Too Good for Drugs' Middle School Curriculum
ATLANTA, May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Too Good, an evidence-based K-12 prevention education program, is proud to announce the launch of the highly anticipated Too Good for Drugs Middle School-Revised Edition, designed to empower teens to meet the challenges of middle school life by building confidence and fostering resistance to substance abuse.
This fun and interactive curriculum enables teachers, families and communities to help teens achieve success in the classroom and in life through social emotional learning and the development of knowledge and attitudes teens need to avoid drug-use. Too Good for Drugs Middle School-Revised Edition incorporates the same skills that motivate teens to make healthy decisions and be drug-free, with enhanced lesson design and cooperative learning made easy.
The revised curriculum features three separate curriculum kits for grades six, seven and eight, with age-appropriate lessons that incorporate five main skill components: goal setting, decision making, bonding with others, identifying and managing emotions and communicating effectively.
"When we can set and reach our goals, we develop a sense of purpose and hope for the future," says Charles Mendez, III, Managing Director at the Mendez Foundation. "When we can look into ourselves and understand how we relate with others, we develop a sense of community. Naturally, making good choices becomes automatic."
Too Good for Drugs Middle School-Revised Edition features:

- Age appropriate lessons to meet students' developmental level
