Axcient Unveils Multitenant Brick-level Protection for Microsoft Exchange and Enhanced Virtualization Environment Support

The newest release of Axcient's best-in-class data backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery service, enables MSPs to protect multiple Exchange servers, down to the message and mailbox level, from a single Axcient appliance through a single web-interface. Managed Service Providers who host multiple Exchange servers for their SMB clients can now define separate backup schedules for each of those servers and provide consistent and faster granular backup and restore for all of the latest Exchange releases, including encrypted and unencrypted modes and SBS 2011. The expanded Exchange functionality can support the protection of thousands of individual mailboxes without requiring the installation of any software.

Axcient has also expanded image backup and virtual server backup with the addition of XenServer. The Axcient backup and business continuity service now has the widest array of virtualization environment support, including VMware ESX and ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Citrix XenServer. IT administrators are able to protect all these devices with backup, failover, and restoration to a virtual server in a matter of minutes. In addition, a Windows 2008 server running multiple Hyper-V servers can be backed up and protected at the virtual machine level and at the hypervisor level as a single image.
