AYI Launches Native Android Application and Integrates Friend of Friends Feature into iPhone Application

NEW YORK, May 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Snap Interactive, Inc. (OTCBB: STVI), is excited to announce the launch of the AYI native Android® application along with integration of the popular Friends of Friends feature on AYI's mobile-web and iPhone® application.

Since the recent launch of AYI's first native Android application, the number of subscription transactions by new subscribers increased approximately 30% from the daily average in the first quarter of 2013.  While Android has historically only represented a small percentage of our business (approximately 3%), we are encouraged by the early results and, therefore, plan to expand our focus to acquiring users for our Android platform.

The native Android application is a significant enhancement to AYI's previous Android application.  Some of the new features and benefits include:

• A new, streamlined interface;
• Integration of Android interface elements and hardware buttons;
• Improved landscape layout for keyboard devices; and
• Better layout support for tablets.

Some features that we plan to develop include:

• Full integration of our Friends of Friends feature set;
• Device notifications of matches and messages;
• Improved integration of interests; and
• Additional profile editing options.

AYI's new Friends of Friends feature, which was launched in early March, has generated significant traction amongst the AYI users. More than 2 million connections have already been made through friends with over 72,000 users messaging their friends directly to learn about a potential date. Meeting through friends also continues to be a preferred method for women to meet men on AYI, as US women are approximately 40% more likely to message a man when they have friends in common. 

AYI plans to continue to build out the Friends of Friends feature on its mobile offerings, including the deeper integration of mutual friends and the ability to find friends in common for specific friends.
