B Cellars Partners With Vin Divino for National Sales and Marketing
CHICAGO, July 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Napa Valley winery B Cellars has just announced an agreement which names Chicago-based Vin Divino as its National Sales and Marketing agent. B Cellars was founded in 2003 by business partners, Duffy Keys, a former Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts executive and Jim Borsak, a veteran of retail and luxury goods. The winery, well-known for its blended wine, uses the negociant model, sourcing from some of the valley's most prestigious vineyards. The blends, carefully crafted by award winning winemaker Kirk Venge, are both single varietal wines from different vineyards as well as wines made from different varietals.
"Our concept has been extremely well received since its inception, however we knew we could not achieve our desired level of growth with our current structure. We simply needed a broader presence in the marketplace, and Vin Divino provides that," said Keys. "Their approach to market is quite different from other wine sales organizations, and we share many of the same values."
Vin Divino, which is owned by Rome-based Angelini Group, is an importer of wines from Italy, Austria, Spain and Chile. The 19 year old company has just undergone a three year restructuring, led by President Len Nowicki.
"Vin Divino has worked hard over the past few years to reposition ourselves in a more relevant way with our national distribution network. Our entry into domestic wines increases this relevance and provides us with excellent strategic growth opportunities," said Nowicki. "We are delighted that B Cellars is our first step into the domestic wine segment. It is an exceptional winery, with excellent pedigree, a distinctive story and strong vision behind it."
Founded by Jim Borsack and Duffy Keys in 2003, B Cellars is a premium winery and tasting salon located on the picturesque Silverado Trail, just minutes from downtown Calistoga. Considered a modern-day negociant – a merchant of Napa Valley's finest grapes that are blended under the B Cellars label – B Cellars operates a multi-vineyard winemaking strategy, allowing for the blending of matchless varietals to create unique wines with distinct character, depth, and "layers" of flavors.
Award-winning winemaker, Kirk Venge, blends four proprietary wines – 23, 24, 25, and 26 – and eight small production, single-varietals – Carneros Syrah, Mt. Veeder Syrah, Caldwell's Kreuzer Canyon Syrah, Dr. Crane Cabernet Sauvignon, To Kalon Cabernet, Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Petite Syrah. The extremely food-friendly wines expand pairing options beyond the traditional parameters with their "layers" of flavors. The B Cellars tasting salon is open seven days a week – no appointment necessary. Visit B Cellars on the web at www.bcellars.com.
