ROSENBERG, Texas, April 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Back the Brave Festival is sending out a call to cookers for their Lone Star Barbecue Society sanctioned BBQ Cook-Off June 3rd and 4th at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds. A qualifier to the Kansas City Nationals and Jack Daniels BBQ Cook-Offs will be awarded to the winning team. This BBQ Cook-Off represents the last chance for cookers in the region to qualify for the Kansas City Nationals. Friday's Open Protein will also feature a Battle of the Firehouses competition with firemen from all over the region competing for bragging rights as the best Firehouse Cook Team. The Back the Brave 501(c)3 non-profit is responsible for the Back the Brave Fest and proceeds from the festival benefit the charity. Back the Brave's mission is to enhance the lives of firefighters and their families in the case of line of duty death or injury, by assisting with financial and/or logistical needs.

In addition to a sanctioned BBQ Cook-Off, the festival will feature live music from open to close both festival days. Headliners will include The Chris Brade Band and Dimitri's Rail, who will perform Saturday night. Friday night's headliner is the 14 year-old, pint-sized phenom, DJ Elle Morgan, who will rock the festival with her record spinning House Music. Elle is the top-rated female DJ in the state of Texas and ranks top ten nationally. She and her ensemble will certainly raise the roof at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds.
The festival will also have premium quality food trucks, a carnival, henna and face painters as well as plenty of arts and crafts vendors for a great shopping experience. Saturday's live auction will include the chance for ladies to bid on the two stepping dancing services of local firefighters during the Chris Brade Band performance. Many classic and antique fire trucks will also be spread out around the fairgrounds to make a Fire Truck Car Show visual. The atmosphere will be a tailor made way to kick-off the summer vacation for young and old from all over.
