Bacon-crazed Lovebirds Say 'I Do' at the Farmland-sponsored Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival

DES MOINES, Iowa, Feb. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- At today's 'Viva Las Bacon' Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival, Farmland Foods and local radio station LAZER 103.3 gave two bacon lovers the wedding of their dreams at the Vegas-inspired 'Chapel OHHHH Bacon.' Craig Roush and April Davila declared their love for bacon and each other with bacon bouquets, unity bacon and tossing of congratulatory bacon bits.

The happy couple – who both agree that the best thing about one another is their love of bacon – was chosen by voters to receive a wedding of a lifetime filled with bacon sights, sounds, tastes and smells provided by Farmland Bacon. Twenty of their closest family and friends, along with thousands of bacon festival attendees, witnessed their passion for bacon and love for each other as they exchanged 'I dos.' The bride, April Davila, carried a bouquet made of bacon as she and the groom, Craig Roush, recited their vows and united their love by ceremoniously sharing a piece of bacon together. After the service, guests wished the new Mr. and Mrs. Roush a long, bacon-filled marriage with the tossing of celebratory bacon bits.

In addition to the baconvential wedding, the 7th Annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival showcased the Farmland Bacon Lounge where all 13,000 attendees could stop to smell the bacon, cooking demonstrations hosted by the Farmland Bacon Chef, bacon samples from local retailers, bacon lectures, a bacon eating contest, and crowning of the annual bacon queen.
