Bakutel 2013, the Largest Exhibition for Telecommunications and Information Technologies in the Caspian Region, Opened on the 2nd of December at Baku Expo Centre

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

The special theme for this year's exhibition is the Year of ICT in Azerbaijan.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev paid a visit to Bakutel 2013, where Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov informed the Head of State that 300 companies from 28 countries were exhibiting at the exhibition. The Head of State wished the exhibition participants success during the opening ceremony and went on to attend the 1st Virtual Conference of Azerbaijanis of the World which was held at the stand of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev also gave an interview to "Euronews".

The exhibition features presentations from over 15 countries about innovative programmes, products and services in the ICT sector for Azerbaijan and the whole Caspian region. Afghanistan, Italy and the USA are making their debut at the Bakutel exhibition with their national stands.

Leading ICT companies, Azerbaijani mobile network operators, communications operators, Internet providers, systems integrators and distributors are also exhibiting at Bakutel 2013. This year, there are more national stands than ever before, organized with the support of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan.
Among the VIP guests of the exhibition are Mr Hamadoun Touré, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Ms Zsuzsanna Nemeth, the Hungarian Minister for National Development, Mr Nikolay Nikiforov, Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. The guests left their comments and suggestions in the VIP guest book.

All of the VIPs have noted the successful economic development of Azerbaijan, the rapid advancements made through the use of technology, the highly effective role of the exhibition as a platform for business meetings and the fruitful work of experts and researchers in the field of telecommunications.

Azerbaijan was the first country in the CIS to host Titan the Robot at the exhibition - an entertainment concept used by event management companies worldwide. Titan the Robot has won the hearts of all Bakutel visitors.
