BALTIMORE, April 14, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In a survey drawing hundreds of nominees over a nine month selection period, Roland Park Place is proud to announce its Director of Health Services, Tanya Allen, RN was selected among the nursing elite by Baltimore magazine for their inaugural "Excellence in Nursing" Top Nurses 2015 list.

Roland Park Place is Baltimore City's only not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, and will be the only retirement community locally to have a nurse honored on the list. Allen will be one of 50 Baltimore nurses saluted in the May issue for "going beyond the call of duty" as a Registered Nurse at Roland Park Place.

As the Director of Health Services, Allen oversees the operations of the Roland Park Place Health Care Center; the on-site Ambulatory Care Center; and all aspects of health and wellness support to Roland Park Place residents. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Systems Management from the University of Baltimore and is pursuing her Master's degree in Gerontology.

To arrive at the results of the survey, Baltimore magazine recruited a panel of RN advisors, appointed by the Maryland Nurses Association and major local hospitals, to review nominations and select the top candidates under 18 different nursing specialties.
