
Banner Medical Group names Chief Operating Officer
Mindy Smith brings more than 20 years of industry experience
PHOENIX, Oct. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mindy Smith, a health care executive with more than 20 years of experience, has joined Banner Medical Group (BMG) and will serve as chief operating officer starting Nov. 1.
Smith joins BMG from Union Health System in Indiana where she served as chief executive of UAP Clinics. Prior to UAP, Smith was vice president for clinics, outpatient services and development for HealthEast Care System in St. Paul, Minn.
At HealthEast, Smith's diverse leadership responsibilities included the development and management of ambulatory divisions, primary care clinics, outpatient facilities, employed and contracted physicians, oversight of 1,000 employees and $175 million in annual revenues.

Smith holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership and Strategic Management from the College of St. Catherine and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
