Baristas to Open First Franchise in Texas
SEATTLE, April 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Baristas Coffee Company, Inc. (OTCPK: BCCI) announces that it has begun to franchise its business model and that its first franchise agreement has been signed for territories in Texas.
Baristas has executed a development franchise agreement with Baristas Texas, an affiliate of Jag Capital, that includes the Texas territories of Houston, Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos, and New Braunfels areas. The agreement is to open 10 locations over the next three years and has an option for 20 additional locations within the territory over the next eight years. The first Texas location has been secured and is expected to open later this month.
Veteran restaurant executive Thomas E. Metzger, FMP, Baristas COO, stated, "I have worked with Jag Capital in a number of prior businesses over the past 15 years, and I have complete confidence in their ability to provide not only the capital required for the expansion but the management acumen to deploy a solid foothold in the San Antonio and other regions in Texas."
Mr. Metzger is focusing on expanding the Baristas business model and brand throughout North America and implementing proven operational systems to ensure an efficient, streamlined and compliant process. He has served as Chief Executive Officer / President / Chief Operating Officer for numerous restaurants, notably Wolfgang Puck, Sizzler Steakhouses, Boston Market and Kenny Rogers Roasters. His experience also includes the development of many national food service brands such as Cinnabon and Wendy's International.
