Baristas to Open in New Jersey

SEATTLE, May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Baristas Coffee Company, Inc. (OTCPK: BCCI) announces that it has completed a development franchise agreement with Cuppa Joes, Inc. to open Baristas branded locations in Monmouth County, N.J.

The agreement is to open five locations over the next three years and has an option for five additional locations within the territory over the next eight years. The Companies are currently seeking to finalize the first location and expect to open within 120 days.

Veteran restaurant executive, Thomas E. Metzger FMP Baristas COO stated that, "Opening our first location on the east coast is a very significant milestone in expanding our franchises throughout the country.  The Baristas business model is virtually non-existent in this region and we believe that it will have a significant impact towards building our brand and business model." Mr. Metzger has served as Chief Executive Officer / President / Chief Operating Officer for numerous restaurants, notably Wolfgang Puck, Sizzler Steakhouses, Boston Market, and Kenny Rogers Roasters.  His experience also includes the development of many national food service brands such as Cinnabon and Wendy's International.
