Bastian Solutions to Provide an Automated Distribution Center for Sidra Medical and Research Center in the Middle East

DOHA, Qatar, March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bastian Solutions (www.bastiansolutions.com) has been selected to design and install an automated sortation system to supply Sidra Medical and Research Center, the first academic medical center in the Middle East.

This distribution center will represent best practices in order fulfillment and feature an advanced tilt tray sorter, pick to light technologies, and automated conveyor systems.

"Sidra will be a state-of-the-art medical facility, so it is important that the distribution center maintain an extremely high level of quality, provide quick response times, and provide high order accuracy to serve each patient," said Tim Woodward, lead systems consultant for the project.

Bastian was contracted by Construction Development Company L.L.C (CDC) to complete the automated material handling system, which is funded by Qatar Foundation, an organization supporting Qatar's journey from a carbon-based economy to a knowledge-based economy.

Bastian Qatar has started installation of Qatar Foundation's distribution center, which is expected to go live by the end of the year.
