INDIANAPOLIS, May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- BATS Wireless, (BATS), the world's leading innovator of wireless stabilization, optimization and tracking systems today announced its next-generation DVM ExP2 ATEX and IECEx Zone 1 certified stabilized microwave systems. The DVM Ex dome's revolutionary design represents the next step in a ruggedized system architecture that can meet the rigorous demands required in today's hazardous locations.

BATS is proud to offer the first and only ATEX / IECEx Zone 1 dual certified system in the world. The new BATS Ex platform is built to exceed the requirements of today's hazardous work zones while supplying the highly critical broadband connections energy operators need in the field.

The Ex dome features an all-new fiberglass/composite-reinforced dome design and a new 316L stainless steel automatic all-digital Ex p purge/pressurization system (P2); that operates by monitoring and controlling the pressure within the protected, domed enclosure. These exclusive features allow the ExP2 system to effectively operate in potentially explosive oil and gas environments and work preventatively to protect crew and other assets in the event of an emergency shutdown situation.

With the ability to monitor, purge, pressurize, alert and cut system power to virtually any electronic component housed within the enclosure, the BATS DVM ExP2 solution offers a level of system control previously unavailable to offshore energy operators. Not only do these advanced features protect critical microwave components inside the dome, but also provide operators with a unique platform capable of hosting radios and antennas from many of the leading manufacturers – providing optimal flexibility no matter the deployment.

"This dual-certified ATEX / IECEx ExP2 platform opens a wealth of opportunities for offshore operators across the globe," says Phil Cramer, E.V.P. Sales & Marketing, BATS. "Operators are now armed with the stabilized, secure, high-bandwidth microwave links they've come to expect in a cost-effective platform guaranteed to meet some of the strictest of hazardous area standards."
