CAMPBELL, Calif., Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bay Sleep, the West Coast's largest and fastest growing independent sleep center, announced the opening of its newest, state-of-the-art sleep clinic in Oakland, California. Located one block from Summit Medical Center, this is Bay Sleep's 16th clinic open for business. Services include sleep physician consultations, diagnostic in-lab and home sleep testing and dispensing CPAP and other therapies for patients diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and other sleep disorders. The growth trend continues as the company plans to open their next full service sleep care facility in Solano County by mid-December. According to Tara Nader, CEO at Bay Sleep, the company is on target to having established five new clinics throughout California in 2011, and is expecting similar expansion in 2012. OSA is one of the most common sleep disorders affecting nearly 1 in 4 men and 1 in 10 women of middle age, but can also affect children and young adults. If left undiagnosed and untreated, OSA can lead to hypertension, cardiovascular disease, obesity, fatigue-related accidents, depression and a myriad of other health conditions. And yet, approximately 80-90% of patients with this disorder have yet to be diagnosed.
"Our strategy is to continue growing by opening locations where patients' sleep issues are not being adequately addressed," said Nader. "Our referring physicians and dentists have partnered with us and have helped fuel our growth," Nader added. "They prefer to refer their patients to Bay Sleep for a number of reasons- the strong reputations of our board-certified sleep specialists, our proprietary web-based Patient and Data Management software, and our specially trained staff who set up CPAP therapy and follow them on a compliance management pathway, all of which allow us to grow while maintaining the highest quality for both patients and physicians."
