Beaulieu Vineyard® "Give & Give Back" Program for Hunger Relief Donates Money and Volunteers to Freestore Foodbank in Ohio

NAPA, Calif., Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Beaulieu Vineyard® (BV), the great American winery in the heart of Napa Valley is sending Jeffrey Stambor, Director of Winemaking, back to his home state of Ohio for the day – along with a donation check for $50,000 for Double Your Dollars Day, a fundraising event for the Freestore Foodbank in Cincinnati. It's all part of the BV Give & Give Back program, the winery's commitment to aid hunger relief across the country. Joining Stambor are six additional employees of Diageo Chateau & Estates wines, with plans to answer donation phone lines, stock warehouse shelves with supplies, and prepare holiday food boxes for neighbors in need served by the Freestore Foodbank.

Hunger in this country has never been more critical, and it's a problem that truly has a solution," says Stambor. "Through volunteerism and donations, it's possible to make a real difference in the lives of hungry Americans. I was born and raised in Ohio, and it's a great honor to return home with this donation and help out during this second annual fundraiser."

The Double Your Dollars Day campaign jumpstarts the holiday giving season on Thursday, November 15, with a fundraising campaign from 6:00 a.m. to midnight. Generous contributions from Beaulieu Vineyard Wines, American Mortgage Charitable Trust, CROSSMARK and other business leaders will be added to the telethon total and recognized in a check presentation and tally reveal at 10 a.m. on Friday, 11/16.

The Double Your Dollars Day event is sponsored by Local 12, WKRC-TV in Cincinnati and Clear Channel Media + Entertainment. A phone bank will be set up at the Freestore Foodbank Mayerson Distribution Center. Local 12, WKRC-TV will feature interviews, stories about why viewers should give to hunger relief, the rising telethon totals, and more. In the spirit of the holiday season, Beaulieu Vineyard encourages other TV and radio stations to spread awareness about this giving campaign to kick-off the Freestore Foodbank's holiday season.

The Freestore Foodbank provides food, clothing, transportation and other life necessities to children and families in South Western Ohio, Southeastern Indiana, and Northern Kentucky who have fallen on hard times.
