CLEVELAND, Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Beckett Energy Systems announces the launch of a new software applications tool to configure the battery management system (BMS) for Beckett's advanced lithium-ion battery solutions.
The application is designed for Windows operating systems (XP, 7 versions) and affords the user the convenience of reconfiguring the battery management system with a new set of agreed upon operating parameters through their own PC. This allows development teams flexibility in fine tuning the Beckett battery solution for optimal performance in their product. "We designed the app for ease of use to allow the operator to quickly verify and confirm their changes. For example we highlight differences from the existing configuration in an easy to read tabular form," states Beckett software engineer Jeff Centanni.
The battery management system is an integral part of Beckett's lithium-ion battery packs. The BMS is the brain of the battery system helping to ensure safety and long-life performance of the 24V lithium-ion modules that make up the battery pack. Beckett's large format lithium-ion battery packs can range from 24Vdc to 500Vdc and from 1kWh to 100kWh in capacity. The BMS monitors the voltage, temperature and current of the pack and communicates this information along with state of charge, operational status and any cautions or faults to a higher level controller.
