BelieveWithMe Launches Second Annual American Gold Star Christmas
Charity Provides Holiday Gifts for Children of Fallen Heroes
PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- BelieveWithMe announces the launch of its second annual American Gold Star Christmas project, offering grateful Americans the opportunity to give Christmas gifts to the children of fallen soldiers. A 501(c)3 organization, in BelieveWithMe's first year of service, Americans from all 50 states showed their gratitude by participating in the project, allowing the charity to provide 168 Gold Star children with over 450 gifts.
A "Gold Star Family" is one that has lost a loved one in the service of the United States military. BelieveWithMe was founded in 2016 to help to Americans who have lost a loved one in the armed forces by giving holiday gifts to their children, handmade bouquets to military widows on Valentine's Day, 5-star resort retreats for Gold Star Mothers on Mother's Day, and renovating homes for the parents of fallen soldiers. Last year, BelieveWithMe served over 200 Gold Star Families and gave over $150,000 worth of aid.
"Our mission is to raise awareness of the high personal cost of freedom in our country and bridge the gap between Gold Star families and civilians," said Founder Lyette Reback. "To accomplish our goal, we call upon an army of volunteers who express over and over that giving back to those families who have given so much is among the most gratifying experiences of their lives."
Gold Star families are invited to visit BelieveWithMe.com to submit their children's names, ages and holiday gift wish list. They can also upload photos of their family and soldier. Volunteers, including high school and college students, neighbors, ex-military members and senior citizens, will hand-wrap each gift in white paper, gold ribbon, and an American flag.
