Follow up to 125th Anniversary to include partnership with Hayden Panettiere

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- How do you follow a year of celebration marking 125 years of business? With a year of Modern. Southern. Music. Belk, Inc. announced today a year of celebration and programming in 2014 that will pay homage to the roots of music as well as today's hottest hits in and from the South. Central to the celebration is a partnership with Hayden Panettiere.

Hayden Panettiere, the award-winning actress best known for her roles in "Heroes" and "Nashville," will serve as ambassador to the Belk brand in 2014, by appearing in advertising, making special appearances and promoting the company via social media.

Another key piece of the Modern. Southern. Music. celebration will be two sweepstakes in 2014. The first will offer brides and grooms-to-be the chance to win a performance by Grammy-winning singer songwriter Edwin McCain at their wedding. A second sweepstakes will offer the chance to win an all-expenses paid VIP trip for four to a concert by the winner's favorite artist, anywhere in the continental United States.
