Bengal's Drilling Campaign Now 9 for 9 at Cuisinier in the Cooper Basin

CALGARY, April 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Bengal Energy Ltd. (TSX: BNG) ("Bengal" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Cuisinier 7, the first well in the 2013 Cuisinier appraisal drilling campaign on the Barta sub-block portion of Authority to Prospect ("ATP") 752P in the Cooper-Eromanga Basin, in Queensland, Australia, is to be cased as a future oil producer.

The Cretaceous Murta member, DC70 sand was the primary target and the well encountered approximately 7.5 metres of sandstone with a preliminary estimate of 6.2 metres net pay. The DC70 at Cuisinier 7 appears to be positioned on the same trend as the offsetting and prolific Cuisinier 6 well which on its Extended Production Test period has shown average daily production rates of 750 barrels of oil per day ("bopd") (187 bopd net to Bengal) since testing began on October 15, 2012. The Cuisinier 6 well has 3.5 metres of net pay in the DC 70 sand and is located 930 metres south east of the Cuisinier 7 well.

Cuisinier 7 is located approximately 1,700 metres north of the Cuisinier 1 Discovery Well ("Cuisinier 1"). Cuisinier 7 is the ninth successful well of nine drilled to date.

Four firm and one contingent well are planned to immediately follow Cuisinier 7, all of which are positioned to optimize pool productivity and to further define ultimate pool size. Each well is targeting the primary Murta Formation. Total drill depth is approximately 1,750 metres per well and drilling and evaluation time for each well is anticipated to be approximately two weeks excluding move times.

The operator expects to commence down-hole completion activities at Cuisinier in July 2013 once the drilling campaign has been completed.

Bengal holds a 25% working interest in the Barta sub-block of ATP 752P.
