'Berwyn Gateway Plaza' Groundbreaking Makes Way For 6 New Restaurants And Retailers

BERWYN, Ill., June 9, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The City of Berwyn and Berwyn Development Corporation are pleased to announce that the development known as Berwyn Gateway Plaza at the northeast corner of Cermak Road and Harlem Avenue broke ground on June 1. Currently, the development team, comprised of Keystone Ventures LLC, Bern Realty Inc., J & P Properties LLC, and Hague Architecture, have leased four of the available six spaces in the development to Buffalo Wild Wings, The Vitamin Shoppe, Verizon Wireless and most recently to Chipotle Mexican Grill. The leases for the remaining two restaurant spaces are still under negotiation. The development team estimates that construction will be complete in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Mayor Robert Lovero thanked the effort of all parties at the groundbreaking event. "During the current economic climate, attracting high quality national retailers and securing financing within a six month period is no easy feat.   The City of Berwyn, the development team, the retailers, and the Berwyn Development Corporation worked together as a team to quickly ramp up this redevelopment of the northeast corner of the Harlem and Cermak intersection.  I applaud the efforts of everyone involved, and await the results of their hard work, as do our residents and shoppers."
