DALLAS, June 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Miron Crosby, a bespoke boot brand created by sisters Lizzie Means Duplantis and Sarah Means, announces the opening of its flagship storefront in Highland Park Village. The 490-square-foot boutique and design studio is located in a second floor retail space above The Honor Bar and Rag & Bone.
The Miron Crosby brand is inspired by the sisters' experiences growing up on their family's West Texas cattle ranch and the result is a collection of artisanal boots hand-lasted in Texas by the 160-year-old manufacturer Rios of Mercedes — cousins of the Means sisters — crafted with luxurious leathers, exotic skins, and stitching. In addition to boot stock offerings, a concierge design service is also available, allowing clients to modify existing silhouettes with an array of materials and colors to create a one-of-a-kind pair. Each pair can also be customized with a monogram, ranch brand, logo, even a handwritten message sewn onto the lining. "Since our family has access to the Rios factory, I've always been able to design my own boots," says Sarah Means. "When I lived in New York, people would stop me to ask where I got my boots. I realized I had nowhere to send them, and nowhere to shop for them myself."
"By allowing our customers to customize a pair of boots, we are hoping to afford them the opportunity to build an heirloom," says Lizzie Means Duplantis. "We are creating boots that signify special events in people's lives, something tangible that will always evoke a fond memory." In its inaugural SS2017 collection, Miron Crosby blends design elements inspired by Chihuahuan Desert flora and fauna, Southwestern Native American tribal art, and Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie School architecture. The inaugural line features an iconic tall cowboy boot, a popular shorty, and a novel midi-boot in an array of leathers enhanced by thoughtful design and craftsmanship to evoke a bygone era of American handcrafts.
The boutique and design studio — the Means sisters enlisted Dallas-based Droese Raney Architecture for interiors, Ashlar Projects for branding, and Foxcroft Studios for merchandising — offers wares for women, men and children. In addition to boots, the sisters have collaborated with artists and designers to offer an assortment of unique accessories. Turquoise jewelry and belts consigned by Shiprock Santa Fe Gallery; gold and silver metalwork, including belt buckles, barware and jewelry from Comstock Heritage; private-label leather and exotic belts from Chacón; and contemporary beaded jewelry from Mignonne Gavigan New York complement their assemblage of Western-influenced footwear.
Miron Crosby is located at 25 Highland Park Village, Suite 201, Dallas, TX 75205. For additional information, please visit www.mironcrosby.com / @mironcrosby.
