Big Night Entertainment Group Offers MICROS's Mobile Payment Solution Powered by Tabbedout at Boston and Foxwoods Resort Casino Venues
Smartphone Application Enhances the Customer Experience Allowing Patrons to Pay Tabs with a Mobile Device; Hospitality Powerhouse First to Offer Technology in Boston and in a Casino
COLUMBIA, Md., Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that Boston-based Big Night Entertainment Group, the hospitality powerhouse behind some of the most successful dining and nightlife destinations in New England, has launched Tabbedout, a secure mobile payment solution that is seamlessly integrated with its MICROS POS system, to enable its patrons to open, view and pay their restaurant and bar tabs using their smartphone.
Big Night will deploy the technology at four of its venues: SHRINE, The Scorpion Bar and High Rollers at Foxwoods Resort Casino/MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket Conn. and Red Lantern in Boston, making it the first company to offer Tabbedout in Boston and in a resort casino.
"We are always introducing new technology that will allow us to stay ahead of the curve and provide the best possible dining and entertainment experience for our customers," said Randy Greenstein, Big Night Entertainment Group Partner. "As integrated into the MICROS suite, Tabbedout does just that, making it faster and easier for customers to pay their restaurant or bar tabs."
Available for free on both iPhone and Android smartphones, the Tabbedout application integrates seamlessly with each venues' MICROS point-of-sale system and was built by security experts with ease of use and marketing capabilities in mind. Unlike other mobile payment platforms, Tabbedout allows users to store credit card information directly on their phone, encrypted and under passphrase protection, instead of on host servers. Consumers are safe from the threat of lost or stolen credit cards and can open, view and pay their tab at their own pace, and share their social experiences with friends via Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, all within the application.
"Tabbedout offers significant value to bar and restaurant patrons and integrates hassle-free with our POS systems," stated Dave Hoffman, Director of eCommerce at MICROS Systems. "MICROS is committed to integrating with and supporting the very best cutting-edge technologies that bring our merchant customers—like Big Night Entertainment Group—more revenue and improve the patrons' experience."
