BERKELEY, Calif., May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 2015 National Bike Challenge in partnership with The City of Berkeley, The Berkeley Bike Station, East Bay Bicycle Coalition is excited to announce the kick-off of the YMCA's BIKE WEEK, May 11-17th.
Mayor Tom Bates, along with the Berkeley City Council and members of the Chancellor's staff, Berkeley High School Principal Kristin Glenchur, and YMCA President and CEO Fran Gallati will join the thousands of bicyclists for a short family ride from Sproul Plaza at UC Berkeley to Berkeley City Hall. Join us on Milvia Street, in front of Berkeley City Hall, for Bike East Bay's staging of a pop-up bikeway.

Ride your bike to the YMCA and check out our indoor bicycle parking. The new Dero double decker bicycle racks. 81 spots, are available to accommodate 300 riders a day who want to park with ease and security. Gone are the days of wet seats, tangled bike pedals and creative bike parking spots. Members can ride to the Y with added convenience and focus on their health goals in the Y. So get on your bike and check it out! Bike parking is available to all members for 2 hours a day anytime the Y is open.
