NEW YORK, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Bikram Yoga Grand Central (http://www.bikramyogagrandcentral.com) announces the opening of its brand new studio in Midtown Manhattan. The 1200 square foot studio is located at 226 East 54th St. 7th Floor NY, NY 10022 between 2nd and 3rd Ave. The studio is equipped with men’s and women’s locker rooms and showers, a beautiful terrace to relax outside after class, and a spacious reception area. In order to provide a pristine atmosphere during class, a special environmentally friendly floor has been installed called P.E.M. Flooring. BYGC is the first studio in Manhattan to offer this special flooring, which is specifically designed to provide a safe experience for yoga practice, and is free of any odors, moisture problems, and the toxins associated with flooring products. The thermal properties of P.E.M. Flooring accelerate evaporation so the studio floor stays dry. Without moisture, mold and bacteria won’t flourish, which means the studio will remain clean and fresh.

Bikram Yoga is a 26 posture Hatha Yoga series performed in a heated room(105 degrees) for 90 minutes. The postures work to move fresh, oxygenated blood to 100% of a student’s body and restore all systems to healthy working order. Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health, and stress relief automatically follow. All ages and ability levels are welcome. Each class provides an encouraging environment for both new students and seasoned practitioners. The studio offers classes 7 days a week from 6:30 am until 8:30 pm. The full schedule and rates can be found at http://www.bikramyogagrandcentral.com. BYGC is an approved affiliate of Bikram’s Yoga College of India (www.bikramyoga.com) and all instructors have been certified and trained by Bikram during an intensive 9 week training course. Co-Owner Kyoko Katsura is the NY State Regional Bikram Yoga Champion.
