SAO PAULO, April 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Biosev S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: BSEV3), the world's second largest sugarcane processor, with 11 agroindustrial units in Brazil, announces the end of the 2015/16 crop year.
The Company registered crushing volume of 31.0 million tons and Cane TRS of 127.5 kg/ton in the period. Production volume measured by Total TRS amounted to 3,946 thousand tons, an increase of 8% from the Total TRS produced in the previous crop year. The following table presents a comparison of the guidance given to the market and the actual results:
A highlight was the increase in the agriculture yield, measured by TCH, which reached 76.2 ton/ha, an increase of 14% from the previous crop year.
The crushing volume of 31.0 million tons is the largest of the last five crop years, while Cane TRS reflects the Company's decision to extend its sugarcane crushing through 4Q16, a period when Cane TRS is typically lower.
Furthermore, capacity utilization achieved 85%, which is also the highest of the last five crop years.
This performance was made possible by the implementation of a series of operational improvements which creates conditions for the sustainability and evolution of the Company's operating performance.
