ATLANTA, Jan. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Birch Communications, Inc., ("Birch") a leading technology service provider of IP-based communications, broadband, cloud and IT-services to small, mid-sized, enterprise and wholesale businesses, today announced it has expanded its offices in Emporia, Kansas to accommodate the company's rapid growth. The expansion comes as Birch hires an additional 120 employees to work in its call center in Emporia.
Birch officials said the expansion project will begin immediately with capital improvements and renovations, including expansion into previously unused office space and an expanded parking lot. Once completed, Birch's Emporia offices will occupy nearly 40,000 square feet of space. This expansion capped off another year of high growth for Birch, led by its acquisition of Cbeyond in July 2014.
"The newly expanded call center helps us to focus on our promise to provide exceptional service to our customers nationwide," said Vincent Oddo, Birch's president and CEO. Birch is renowned for its award-winning call centers. The company has been certified as a "Call Center of Excellence" by BenchmarkPortal in 2007, 2013 and 2014, a designation given only to the top 10% of Call Centers in the United States.
"We are excited about the facilities and new employees" said Kristen Ritchie, Vice President of Customer Care for Birch. "We have never been better positioned to deliver excellent service to our growing client base."
The City of Emporia assisted in the expansion through an economic incentive package provided for Birch, which is one of the city's largest employers. Birch's Emporia Operations Center is located at 1301 Chestnut Street.
