ATLANTA, Sept. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Birch Communications, Inc., ("Birch") a leading nationwide provider of communications, network and cloud services to small, mid-sized, enterprise and wholesale businesses, announced today a major expansion of its BirchLink® Metro-Fiber services.
This latest network expansion adds more than 320,000 new buildings across 12 major U.S. metro markets — Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, San Antonio, San Diego and Washington DC — supporting bandwidth-intensive applications and delivering dedicated, symmetric Internet access up to 1Gbps.
"Bandwidth consumption continues to rise and we are excited to expand our Metro-Fiber footprint to meet that demand. Our high-capacity, low-latency network is exactly what our customers need to maintain their competitive edge," said David Gibson, Vice President of Business Development at Birch. "We will continue to aggressively expand the reach and power of our Metro-Fiber footprint within key markets and geographic locations to meet the growing needs of our customers."
The company's 2015 / 2016 roadmap includes ongoing network expansion in both existing and additional markets in the coming months. The emphasis will continue to be on extending its Metro-Fiber footprint in Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets nationwide.
"Access to a faster network accelerates business development and therefore opportunities for innovation, expansion and e-commerce. As we continue to expand our Metro-Fiber footprint we are able to provide greater speeds to our existing customers, deliver better connectivity to multi-location customers and reach new prospects," said Christopher Ramsey, Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer at Birch. "Expanding our network presence enables Birch to offer services that address all of a customer's connectivity needs for voice, data and the Cloud."
