Black Girl Vitamins Launches Kitchen Confessions, a New Podcast Centering Black Women's Health and Wellness

Hosted by Dr. Contessa Metcalfe, the series gets candid about motherhood, mental health, hormones, aging and more.

CHICAGO, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Black Girl Vitamins (BGV) today announced the launch of Kitchen Confessions, a new video podcast that brings Black women together for candid conversations about the health, wellness and life experiences shaping their lives. Hosted by Dr. Contessa Metcalfe, a BGV brand partner and cast member of Married to Medicine.

Bringing together physicians, entrepreneurs, mothers, and community leaders, the conversations explore motherhood, mental health, aging, perimenopause, self-care, identity and more. Through candid personal stories and expert insight, guests discuss what changes during these stages, what women are not always prepared for and what they wish they had understood sooner.

Season 1 featured guests include psychiatrist and fellow Married to Medicine cast member Dr. Mimi Sanders; entrepreneur Kesha "Pea" Ward and wife of Grammy Award-winning rapper 2 Chainz; and Christina "Ms. Basketball" Granville. Together, they bring a mix of lived experience and professional perspective to the table.

The inaugural season premiered September 23rd with a conversation exploring pregnancy and motherhood (watch HERE), followed by a discussion coming soon on aging and perimenopause. Future episodes will take on PCOS, weight management and exercise, fibroids, and beauty, bringing new voices and perspectives to the table with each conversation.

Building on BGV's short film The Visit, Kitchen Confessions continues the brand's investment in original storytelling that reflects Black women's health experiences and gives those conversations a larger platform.
