NEW YORK, Nov. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Blackstone Mortgage Trust, Inc. (NYSE: BXMT) (the "Company") today announced that, in connection with the Company's underwritten public offering of 5.25% convertible senior notes due 2018 (the "Notes"), the underwriters have exercised in full their option to purchase an additional $22.5 million in aggregate principal amount of Notes. The issuance of the additional $22.5 million principal amount of Notes closed on November 27, 2013. The full exercise of the option to purchase additional Notes brings the total aggregate principal amount of Notes sold in the offering to $172.5 million.
The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to originate and purchase additional commercial mortgage loans and other target assets and investments consistent with its investment strategies and investment guidelines, and for working capital and other general corporate purposes.
Citigroup, BofA Merrill Lynch, J.P. Morgan and Wells Fargo Securities acted as joint book-running managers for the offering. Blackstone Capital Markets acted as co-manager.
