Blockbuster Rolls Out Summer Movie Rental Specials

MCKINNEY, Texas, July 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Blockbuster L.L.C. is helping customers get out of the hot summer sun and into some cool movie rental deals with the launch of two new in-store promotions in which customers can enjoy a weekday matinee or a way to make their weekends last even longer.

Matinee Promotion:

How about a movie rental and a cool beverage for only $1.49? From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, customers can rent any DVD or Blu-ray movie normally priced at $1.99 or below for only $1.49 for the first night. As an added bonus, they can quench their thirst with a 20-ounce Coca-Cola product at no additional cost. All rentals are only 99 cents per day after the first day.

Lazy Days of Summer Promotion:

During the summer, Sundays are often a day of rest and relaxation. So Blockbuster is introducing the Lazy Days of Summer Promotion that can extend your weekend by offering a low priced movie rental for 49 cents. Every Sunday from July 10 through Sept. 4, movie fans are invited to get any $1.99 or 99-cent DVD or Blu-ray movie for only 49 cents for the first day. All rentals are only 99 cents per day after the first day.
