Bloom Health Greatly Expands Specialty Offerings on its Private Exchange Platform®
MINNEAPOLIS, June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloom Health announces today the expansion of specialty products and carrier options for their Private Exchange Platform® solution. These additional options, paired with Bloom's existing industry-leading private exchange technology and consumer experience, further strengthen the platform's value to brokers, employers and consumers.
"Bloom prides itself on bringing brokers, employers and consumers choices from a wide array of carefully curated products and carriers," Simeon Schindelman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bloom Health said. "With the addition of life, disability, and supplemental products and new specialty carriers to the existing medical, dental and vision benefits we already offer, we are giving employers even more flexibility with the coverage options they provide while providing their employees straightforward support and expert recommendations."
The broad choice enjoyed by employees on Bloom's platform results in more appropriate benefit selections that better fit each employee's unique personal and family needs.
In addition to the medical, dental and vision plans currently offered through Bloom's five health plan partners, these specialty benefit carriers and companies will now offer their products and solutions to Bloom Health's customers:
- Davis-Managed Vision Care Administrator – vision
- EyeMed Vision Care - vision
- The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America – dental, life, long-term disability, short-term disability
- ReliaStar Life Insurance Company, a member of the Voya Financial family of companies (formerly known as ING U.S.) – life, long-term disability, short-term disability, critical illness, accident and hospital indemnity insurance solutions

"By combining these new specialty products and carrier relationships with our expanded administrative capabilities, employers are now able to obtain their benefits administration and private insurance exchange through one sophisticated technology that provides a single consumer enrollment experience and streamlined tools for the employer," Schindelman added.
With education tools comes an increased understanding of the importance of specialty benefits as part of managing the overall health and financial risk of an employee and his or her family. Adding benefit options to Bloom's Private Exchange Platform increases the amount of choice employees have and their satisfaction in benefits decisions because employees can find plans to better meet their unique needs.
Bloom will continue to evaluate additional specialty carrier partners and other consumer services companies to maximize the value and options for employer clients and their employees.
