Blu® Homes Adds Two Vice Presidents to Growing Executive Team

SAN FRANCISCO and WALTHAM, Mass., April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Blu® Homes, Inc. ("Blu"), the leading builder of precision-engineered, green prefab homes, announced today that Albert Yan has been named vice president of advanced manufacturing engineering and John Pilkin has been named vice president of project delivery, with Pilkin working from Blu's San Francisco office and Yan working from the Blu factory on Mare Island in Vallejo, California.

With over 30 years of experience in both startups and large organizations, Albert Yan brings a depth of engineering experience to Blu Homes, where he leads engineering, certification and compliance and rapid response to technical issues in manufacturing. Yan is responsible for bridging the gap between Blu's advanced concepts in R&D and factory-capability and integrating new engineering solutions into factory processes.

Most recently, Yan served as the director of advanced manufacturing at Blu Homes. Previously, Yan worked as director of hardware systems at Virident Systems, where he led a development team. Yan has served in other senior roles in engineering, system management and manufacturing management at nVidia, PCENT, Nortel Networks, Alteon Websystems, Sun Microsystems and Apple Computer.

John Pilkin joined Blu Homes in February 2013 as senior director of project delivery at Blu Homes. In his new role as the company's vice president of project delivery, Pilkin is responsible for managing Blu's nationwide team of project managers and estimators and all site-related activities and logistics. Pilkin and his team focus on delivering a great customer experience by providing clear expectations, tight processes and schedules and streamlined vendor management. 

From 2003 to 2013, Pilkin held numerous leadership roles at Nuance/Viecore, a leading global provider of speech and imaging solutions. Prior to Nuance, John was a senior architect at Voice Integrators, where he designed custom web and voice applications in verticals including healthcare, insurance, telco, banking and utilities.
