BlueChip Energy to Feature 40 MW Solar Farm Project at Intersolar North America 2011
Alternative Energy Utility to Present Equity Partnership Program for Sorrento Solar Farm in Florida
LAKE MARY, Fla., July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- BlueChip Energy, LLC (BCE) a fully integrated solar energy provider for utility, commercial, and residential applications, today announced it will feature the 40 MW Sorrento Solar Farm project as the centerpiece of the company's exhibit at Intersolar North America being held July 12-14, 2011, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.
The Sorrento Solar Farm is the flagship project in BCE's solar pipeline of 120 MW of utility-scale projects currently under construction or in planned development. Having received fast track approval from local permitting authorities in May 2011, the engineering and construction phase has already begun. Already slated to be the largest privately-owned solar farm in Florida, Sorrento's adjacent land areas allow for an additional 80 MW of solar farm development.
BCE's goal of owning and operating 500 MW of utility-scale solar projects over the next five years will provide strategic equity partnerships for manufacturers, integrators, developers and investors while assuring leadership roles in the burgeoning U.S. solar market.
BCE recently began the procurement process for components for the Sorrento Solar Farm, announcing the decision to utilize the Smart Module 400-GSM Series from its manufacturing subsidiary Advanced Solar Photonics (ASP) for the project's first two stages of 10 MW each. The remaining modules and balance of system components will be reserved for interested partners or investors who wish to participate in the Sorrento Solar Farm project.
For strategic partners in component manufacturing, a partnership with BCE in its solar farm projects features:
- Guaranteed off-take of product for the next several years;
- Strengthened presence in the high-growth U.S. solar market; and
- The opportunity to hedge price volatility with recurring cash flows from electricity sales.
BCE's solar farm experts and top executives will be on hand at the company's booth # 9816, located in West Hall on level three, to answer questions about the project and discuss the equity partnership program. On display will be the full line of ASP's ARRA compliant and CEC certified solar modules ranging from the BlackStar 250 Watt to 400 Watt series, and the next generation of Smart Technology PV Modules in frameless, tempered, glass-to-glass panels with a proprietary barrier seal and a smart junction box.
BlueChip Energy, LLC (BCE) is a fully integrated solar PV power generator, occupying all segments of the solar power value chain -- from the manufacturing of solar panels and balance of systems components by its wholly owned subsidiary Advanced Solar Photonics, to the sale of turnkey solar power plants, to the sale of solar electricity to utility, commercial and residential customers. BCE develops, finances, builds, operates, and monitors solar plants for companies and individuals, as well as for its own portfolio. www.bluechipenergy.net
