EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J., May 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bluestar Silicones announces the launch of its newly expanded line of BLUESIL™ silicone moldmaking products for rapid prototyping applications at the RAPID 2015 Conference (Booth #631), May 19 – 21, in Long Beach, Calif.
Bluestar Silicones introduces BLUESIL™ RTV 3044, a new 1:1 mix ratio, platinum-catalyzed room temperature curing elastomer designed to give the high mechanical performance that customers have come to expect of Bluestar Silicones' products along with an improvement to mold life. This new low viscosity elastomer is a high transparency product that allows for mistake-free part reproduction and a faster, more efficient process.
"Customers are looking for ways to maximize the performance of their molding materials," said Reeshemah Chatham, market manager for Moldmaking. "This new product is designed for increased longevity against casting materials, optimizing maximum use of the molds for prototypers. And, the added feature of a 1:1 mix ratio allows for ease of mixing with higher consistency of the mix. For our customers, that means an improvement in performance and less waste."
The Bluesil™ RTV 3044 joins the Bluestar Silicones range of BLUESIL™ moldmaking products for use with urethane foams and casting materials for architectural, prototyping and furniture molding applications. These RTV products offer high tensile and tear strength, long mold life, no shrinkage upon cure and highly accurate reproduction of details. Formulated with low viscosities for better filling and degassing and with built-in inhibition resistance, the Bluesil™ RTV 3040 family of products is the ideal choice for durometer versatility, performance, efficiency, and peace of mind.
