BMI Elite Takes the Ice Bucket Challenge and Raises Over $3,000 for ALS Research

BOCA RATON, Fla., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BMI Elite, a full-service marketing agency headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla., partook in a company-wide Ice Bucket Challenge on Monday and rose over $3,000 for the ALS Association.

Last Friday, BMI Founder and CEO Brandon Rosen accepted his ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in the BMI parking lot and instead of nominating three other individuals as is customary, nominated the entire agency to do the same or donate to the ALS Association. On Monday, employees gathered in front of the building at 5:30 p.m. to accept Rosen's challenge. The company needed 300 pounds of ice to fill everyone's buckets. Before everyone got soaked, BMI President Dan Lansman spoke into the camera and nominated three other local companies to take the challenge within 24 hours, while Rosen looked down upon everyone from atop a fire truck, hose in hand, and ready to make sure no one left dry.

In addition to participating in the challenge, BMI Elite as a company will be donating $2,500 to the ALS Association, along with personal donations made by individuals within the company totaling over $3,000 to support continued research of Lou Gehrig's disease and help find a cure for the fatal illness that affects over 30,000 Americans.

"I think it's really great that we were able to do this and get other companies involved to support such a great cause. We at BMI are always looking for ways to give back," said Rosen.

BMI Elite takes great pride in giving back to the community and supports many non-profit organizations and charities throughout the year. The company is currently raising money for the American Diabetes Association and will be participating in the annual Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes 5K in October. In the past, the company has held toy drives for children during the holidays as well as food drives to help feed the hungry, amongst other charitable contributions.
