BMX Olympian Connor Fields Partners With Free Bike Registry BikeGuard™
Fields Earns Double Podium in the 2013 BMX Winter Nationals Pro Series
NEW YORK, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- BikeGuard™, a web-based free bike registry, caught up with BMX pro Connor Fields in his hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada. Fields celebrated a double podium finish at the BMX Winter Nationals Pro Series in Phoenix, Arizona on March 1st-3rd, 2013.
Now 20 years old, Fields began his BMX career at age 7 when his mother saw a flyer for the local BMX track at a bike shop. At 10, Fields decided to forgo other sports to focus on BMX.
"All sports are a microcosm of life," says Fields. "They teach you the kind of lessons life is going to teach you. Through sports you're working hard to achieve something. My bike has taught me the importance of hard work and how to be a better person in all aspects of my life. BMX really holds you accountable because you're the only one out there."
Fields describes qualifying for the 2012 London Olympics Men's Event as the highlight of his career. His litany of accomplishments also includes winning the 2012 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup #1 in Norway and California and two National Championships in the USA.
BikeGuard™ allows bikers to register bikes online and dispenses free tags for registrants to track their bikes. Fields is effusive about his commitment to cycling.
"No matter what kind of bike it is, whether it's a mountain bike, BMX bike, or just a casual beach cruiser, my passion for cycling will never get old," Fields declares.
