Bob O'Halloran, Vice President of Summit Claims, Named to Workers' Comp Hall of Fame
LAKELAND, Fla., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Summit is pleased to announce that Bob O'Halloran, vice president of claims, has been named to the charter class of the Florida Workers' Compensation Institute (FWCI) Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame's charter class has 18 members, who were recognized for their outstanding efforts in creating, revising and bettering the Florida workers' compensation industry. Summit is a leading provider of workers' compensation services throughout the Southeast, and is a subsidiary of Boston-based Liberty Mutual Insurance.
A 20-year Summit veteran, O'Halloran currently oversees a claims department that covers 11 states and handles nearly 40,000 workers' compensation claims annually. But it is his vision, leadership and record of achievement that impacts the industry to which he has dedicated his career.
O'Halloran is a recognized subject-matter expert on workers' compensation claims management and evaluation, as well as a trusted source for legislators and industry leaders. He has served on the review and advisory board for governmental issues in workers' comp, and was involved in industry advisory groups that helped drive legislative action for the 2003 changes to Florida's workers' compensation laws. He has served on the FWCI education committee since 1998. A longtime member of the Workers Compensation Claims Professionals (WCCP) Bob has served as president, vice president, treasurer and chair of the organization. He has participated in planning training components for both FWCI and WCCP for 13 years, is a state-certified speaker for various industry conferences, and has published articles in the Florida Underwriter and other journals.
According to O'Halloran, "This [Hall of Fame] award is more about Summit and our reputation than it is about me. Summit is committed to quality client service and strategic partnering like no other company I know. This award is really a testament to my colleagues throughout Summit who work so hard to be the best."
