Body Bar Inc. Introduces Revolutionary Flex Trek Walking Program

BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --  Body Bar^® Inc., a premier fitness company specializing in products and educational tools for fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, today announced its revolutionary new Body Bar Flex Trek Walking Program.

The Flex Trek workout is an audio program that guides participants through walking exercises set to music, utilizing a pair of light BBFlex-355 hand weights.  The BBFlex-355 bars apply the flexible and resistive qualities of the award-winning Body Bar FLEX^®, coupled with a small amount of extra weight.

Each bar is 14 inches long and weighs 0.8 pounds.  The weight comes from round copper pellets inside which move back-and-forth in response to arm movements.  Therefore, these hand weights are not just "dead weight" but transmit stronger variable forces to the muscles than simple weights, adding an effective upper body and core challenge to the cardio benefits of walking.

June Kahn, a Boulder, Colorado-based, nationally-recognized Pilates and Health Master instructor/teacher trainer, and member of Team Body Bar, created the Flex Trek workout, which is an effective low-impact walking program for enhancing cardiorespiratory fitness and heart health while developing and maintaining muscular endurance and core conditioning.

The basic walking program has a fun and engaging format intended for a beginning-level walker, with progressions from walking drills to endurance training to circuit formats for full body training.  Later versions of the audio program will enable users to increase their level of intensity and activity using the same bars.
