Boston App Expo Implements Care100 Partnership and Community Empowerment Programs to Assist Veterans and Women

BOSTON, Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boston App Expo, a conference featuring sponsors, an app festival, workshops, speakers, panels and more, taking place at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston September 24-25, has announced the formation of the Care100 Partnership.

The Boston App Expo's Care100 Partnership provides the opportunity to help veterans and women entrepreneurs. "Our goal is to secure 100 free tickets for qualified unemployed veterans to attend, get trained and network. Expo sessions will provide thousands of dollars in value to attendees in forms of licensing, consulting, networking and courses.

In addition to a traditional conference program, the Boston App Expo has also implemented community empowerment programs. Five percent of each ticket sold will be donated to "Homes For Our Troops," a top ranked non-profit that builds homes for severely injured veterans. A complete panel discussion is dedicated to "Tech Careers for Veterans" in order to address benefits and strategies of hiring veterans. "We want hiring managers to know that hiring veterans is just good business," added Wafapoor. "At the same time, we want to advise veterans on the best employment search strategies in the tech space."
