Boston Children's Hospital launches new MyWay mobile app

App to improve patient experience with wayfinding to and throughout Boston Children's locations, access to patient medical records, doctor information and support services

BOSTON, April 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Boston Children's Hospital today announced the launch of its new mobile application (app), Boston Children's Hospital MyWay™, providing patients and families with a one-stop mobile information hub for navigating the Boston Children's Hospital patient experience.

Benefits to app users include access to information on over 1,000 physicians, more than 200 clinical programs and six Boston Children's clinical sites, including Boston, Lexington, Martha Eliot Health Center, Waltham, Peabody and Weymouth. Families can also request an appointment and access the MyChildren's Patient Portal website to view their child's medical records in seconds. MyWay was built using mobile software company Meridian's platform for location-based apps and provides users with turn-by-turn directions within the hospital, minimizing confusion and improving navigation from clinic to clinic.

This new app addresses the growing need for immediate access to health care information. Additional features include contact information for and directions to the closest hospitals staffed with Boston Children's doctors in the emergency rooms, neonatal intensive care units and pediatric in-patient rooms. Locations for support services such as the Center for Families, Social Work and Child Life Services are also available. Details about parking and areas surrounding Boston Children's locations - including restaurants, accommodations and listings of local activities and traffic updates - are also accessible to assist patients and families.
