Boulder Power Signs City Of Denver As New Customer For PowerTap 2000
City and County of Denver Selects Boulder Power's Portable Power Unit In Line With Its Sustainability Initiatives
BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Boulder Power Technologies (http://boulderpowertech.com), a provider of portable renewable power products, today announced the City and County of Denver has purchased its PowerTap 2000 portable power units to help further its mission of creating sustainable environments using technologies that are energy efficient. Denver will be using the PowerTap 2000 for public events and speeches by Denver's Mayor Michael Hancock to power the city's PA system, lighting, other electronics and more.
"Our city and county government seeks to reduce air pollution emissions from its operations by 1.5 percent per year," said Jerome Tinianow, Denver's Chief Sustainability Officer. "One way to do that is to replace noisy diesel generators with a quiet, plug-in system like the PowerTap 2000. We like to walk the walk, and a plug-in electric generator can help us do that."
The PowerTap 2000 is Boulder Power Technologies' award-winning portable power generator. It utilizes cutting-edge Lithium Ion battery technology to deliver portable power where and when needed, with "zero-noise/zero-emissions" and without the fumes and cost of gasoline. Boulder Power Technologies is dedicated to designing and manufacturing products that are cleaner, lower-cost and superior to gas-powered products. It is one of the first companies to bring renewable and alternative power sources to the mass-mid-market through advancements in lithium-ion battery technology. Introduced in 1991, this technology is cleaner, safer and more reliable than any other battery technology, leading to its adoption across both industrial and consumer industries – from mobile phones to electric cars.
"Although other university systems and municipalities are considering the PowerTap 2000, Denver is the first municipal government to recognize and purchase the broad utility, value of zero noise operation and renewable energy of the PowerTap 2000," said Darren Johnston, chief operating office for Boulder Power Technologies.
With the PowerTap 2000 becoming a tool to help achieve Denver's sustainability goal, Boulder Power Technologies looks to expand further into municipal and industrial applications.
"We are seeing keen interest from small -to- medium oil and gas firms for remote onsite power, facilities managers for academic centers, residential construction firms as well as many inquiries from Parks and Recreation sites," Johnston said. "Within three months of the launch, we are excited about the traction and potential for continued growth and diverse application possibilities."
The PowerTap 2000 is available nationwide. Orders can be placed via its website. For more information or ordering information, please visit (http://boulderpowertech.com).
