Bovis Lend Lease Will Manage Construction of The Admiral at the Lake, a $101 Million Retirement Community Project Located in Chicago, IL
CHICAGO, Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bovis Lend Lease has been selected to provide preconstruction and construction management services for The Admiral at the Lake, a 628,570 square foot Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) consisting of 200 independent living apartments, 39 assisted suites, 17 memory support accommodations and 36 private skilled nursing rooms.
The new $101 Million structure will replace an existing campus of buildings built over the past 90 years on the corner of Foster and Marine Drive, located directly across from Lake Michigan.
The new building is divided between the 12-story health center and the 32-story tower with independent living apartments. All residential spaces start on the sixth floor. The lower five floors include a 294-vehicle parking garage, lobby, indoor swimming pool, fitness and wellness center, media center and adjunct townhome apartments. The sixth floor offers residents several dining venues, library, business center and common living room.
The Kendal Corporation will bring its expertise as a leading not-for-profit provider of communities and services for older adults to this new community. The Admiral will become an affiliate of the Kendal system of communities, which was founded, and continues to grow, with intentional regard for Quaker principles.
