LAS VEGAS, July 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Songwriting Awards released the winners for 2016 today. Taking the grand prize for his song entitled "End of Our Rainbow" was Eric Blossman hailing from Spicewood Texas. "End of the Rainbow" took the top prize out of all the categories making Eric Blossman the grand prize winner. End of the rainbow has a 6/8 Country feel which is not as common in a lot of country songs today. It has a driving melody and the instrumentation and vocal melodies are very refined to illustrate a mastering of the songwriting craft. The lyrics are honest and heartfelt and the song packs a real punch in its delivery.

Eric also was a finalist in the country category for his hard hitting song entitled "Hard Landing." "Hard Landing" takes on the problems some of our veterans face when coming home from combat. Although a topic not as common in Country music today, this one take an approach which will allow the listeners to follow how our current system doesn't always take on the issues head on of veterans returning from combat.
Today's win was Eric Blossman's first entry into the contest and has definitely shown that he is an up and coming songwriter that has a bright career ahead.
