Brian Rubow honored with other SEMI Standards leaders at SEMICON West 2017
SALT LAKE CITY, July 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Brian Rubow, the Director of Client Training and Support at Cimetrix, Inc. was awarded the Leadership Award at the annual SEMI International Standards Awards Reception on Tuesday, July 11 during the SEMICON West show.
Mr. Rubow has over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor, electronics assembly, robotics, PV and HB-LED industries, and has been a key contributor to the SEMI Standards programs throughout his career. He is well known in the industry not only because of his involvement in SEMI Standards, but also his role in training and supporting the many customers of Cimetrix equipment connectivity and control products over the years.
The Leadership Award recognizes those who volunteer their time and demonstrate outstanding leadership within the SEMI Standards Program. In addition to his personal technical contributions to the standards development process, Mr. Rubow spends a significant portion of his time training, mentoring and guiding other members through his leadership roles on the committees. Specifically, Mr. Rubow worked on the maintenance of the full suite of GEM300 and EDA (Equipment Data Acquisition) standards. When the global PV and HB-LED industries needed proven communication standards for equipment integration and factory automation, he played a major role creating standards for them. Recently, he worked with industry colleagues to define an open, common approach for documenting SECS/GEM interface capabilities and a notation for documenting and logging SECS/GEM messages. The notation revolutionizes SECS/GEM because it can also be used by programmers to easily build and parse messages using XML features found in all modern programming languages.
Mr. Rubow currently serves as the vice-chair of SEMI NA Regional Standards Committee Organization, co-chair of SEMI NA TC Chapter of the Information and Control Global Technical Committee, leader of SEMI DDA and GEM300 Task Forces and leader of the SEMI HB-LED Equipment Communications Interface Task Force.
