Briggs & Stratton® Reveals Breakthrough SnowShredder(TM) Serrated Auger On Single-Stage Snowblowers

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The new SnowShredder™ serrated auger on single-stage snowblowers built by the Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group lets you easily clear snow and ice, including that tough and compacted end-of-the-driveway snow left behind by the snowplow. The patented SnowShredder auger system combines 14-welded, serrated steel surfaces with reinforced rubber paddles to efficiently chop, grind and clear compacted snow, ice and end-of-driveway snow build-up. The self-propelled drive system quickly clears down to the pavement and moves the snowblower forward effortlessly. This new feature is available on two easy-to-use models, the 922EXD and the1222EE, in Snapper^® and Simplicity^® branded single-stage snow blowers.  The 922EXD model is also available under the Briggs & Stratton brand.

The highest-end model (1222EE) of the new single-stage snowblower features the 250cc Briggs & Stratton^© engine, the largest engine in its class, providing significant engine torque for more snow clearing power. The powerful engine is complemented by easy-to-use electric chute rotation control to quickly and accurately adjust the direction in which snow is thrown.

All Snapper, Simplicity and Briggs & Stratton models feature an ergonomically designed handlebar and easy-to-use controls for enhanced operator comfort and maneuverability.  In addition, push-button electric start provides quick starts on cold winter days – down to -20 F – and if it doesn't start within two electric start attempts, Briggs & Stratton will fix it for free^[2]. The entire snowblower is also backed up by a generous three-year limited warranty^[3].

Snapper, Simplicity and Briggs & Stratton models will be carried by participating independent dealers. The Briggs & Stratton-branded 922EXD model is also available at select Lowe's stores.
