Brighton Jones Appoints New Lead Advisors to Oversee San Diego and Fort Lauderdale Regions

Firm continues national expansion with second office opening in Florida.

SEATTLE, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Brighton Jones, a $30 billion (AUA) wealth management firm dedicated to aligning clients' wealth with their values and passions, has hired Garrett Newman, CFP, as a Lead Advisor in San Diego, California and Christopher Budny, CFP, as a Lead Advisor in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In their new roles, Newman and Budny will serve as Personal CFO for individuals and families, and lead local service teams dedicated to helping clients understand and achieve their financial and broader life goals.

Newman joins Brighton Jones from After-Tax Wealth Management, where he served as a Financial Planner for the last five years. He has more than 15 years of experience in the wealth management industry and previously held positions at Prudential Financial and Fidelity Investments. Having built a client base in the San Diego community over the last several years, he is dedicated to providing local individuals and families with comprehensive wealth and investment management services.

Budny will oversee Brighton Jones' Fort Lauderdale office, a newly established market for the firm and its 5th office opening this year. Budny began his career at Vanguard and spent time as a Financial Advisor at other Advisory firms in South Florida. With experience across client service, business development and operations, Budny will develop and expand upon relationships within the community to provide best-in-class client service.
