British American Business Council Los Angeles to Host 54th Annual Christmas Luncheon at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows Resort
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- British American Business Council Los Angeles (BABC LA) is hosting their 54th Annual Christmas Luncheon at the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica on Friday, December 13, 2013. The BABC LA is part of the largest transatlantic business network, with 23 chapters and 2,500 member companies. The BABC LA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting friendship, commerce and trade between the United States and the United Kingdom.
This festive event has become a celebrated favorite with the British and American communities in Southern California. Each year it draws over 500 people, including the British Consul General, the Regional Director of UK Trade & Investment and prominent leaders from the business and entertainment communities. The special guest speaker this year will be Sarah the Duchess of York. The program will also include Patrick Kielty, celebrated British comedian and a performance by Quinn Archer who was described in the December issue of Vanity Fair (U.K. edition) as "poised to become Britain's next great soul singer". There will be a special tribute to the life of Nelson Mandela by South African Emile Welman who co-wrote and performed "9,000 days" in the Rugby movie "Invictus". The Master of Ceremonies of the luncheon will be veteran news anchor and multiple Emmy Award winner Carlos Amezcua.
Confirmed attendees among the sold out luncheon include: Gene Simmons (Kiss), Vivica A. Fox ("Independence Day", "Set It Off", "Soul Food"), Will Rothhaar (star of National Geographic's "Killing Kennedy"), Cas Anvar ("Diana" the movie and co-star of upcoming CBS show Intelligence), Penelope Ann Miller ("The Artist," "Saving Lincoln" and "Mistresses") and Lolita Davidovich ("Rizzoli & Isles", "Kill Your Darlings", and "Squatters").
The theme and focus of the luncheon this year will be British and American luxury brands, which include Asprey, Christopher Guy, Philip Treacy, Chivas Regal, Glenfiddich, Jo Malone, Woody Wilson, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Delta Airways and many others. The luncheon will also feature a toy drive and contribution to Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
