British Charity Racer Attacked and Hospitalised in France

A marketing executive from chillisauce.co.uk who is hitch hiking to Germany with his office chair to take part in the 'Office Chair Racing World Championship', has been viciously attacked and hospitalised near Amiens, France in the early hours of this morning.

Robert Dawson-Goodey set off yesterday from Chillisauce HQ, the company which has sponsored him to take part in the event, and was making good progress as he and his chair began the 1,000 km journey to raise money for Help4Heroes and documenting his journey at blog.chillisauce.co.uk .

In the early hours of this morning (around 3am) he was in a Service Station just outside Amiens, when confronted by a group of men. As Robert attempted to walk away he was hit over the head and then subjected to a sustained attack before they stole his passport, money, telephone and bag; leaving him with only a shoe and his race suit.

Rob is now in hospital and unbelievably plotting a way to still take part in the race on Sunday 6^th May in Laichingen, Germany. So, battered and bruised he's attempting to leave hospital and get to a consulate in order to collect the temporary documentation that will allow him to travel to the competition.

From his hospital bed Rob said 'I've set out to raise money for Help4Heroes and that's exactly what I plan to do. I am not going to let these people stop me.'

His boss, Creative Director at Chillisauce Adrian Simpson said 'that's the measure of the guy, he's unstoppable, and after everything that's happened it would be great if everyone could get behind Rob and support his cause.'
