BritishAmerican Business Launches Women's Initiative

NEW YORK, March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- BritishAmerican Business (BAB), the leading transatlantic business organization, launched its Women's Initiative today with over 200 senior executives from over 100 companies attending.  

The goal of BAB's Women's Initiative is to contribute to the awareness that equal access to career-building opportunities is the smart thing to do for all businesses.  BAB's Women's Initiative will host networking, development and other important programs aimed at critical issues facing today's woman executive, including but not limited to, career and succession planning, financial planning and the promotion of open, inclusive and flexible work environments.

BAB's Women's Initiative Launch featured a keynote by Emmy Award-winning Maria Bartiromo, Anchor of CNBC's "Closing Bell" and Anchor/Managing Editor of the nationally syndicated "Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo," which was recently rated the most watched financial news television program in America.  Among many awards, in December 2009, Bartiromo was featured in the Financial Times as one of the "50 Faces That Shaped the Decade."

About Maria Bartiromo

Maria Bartiromo is anchor of CNBC's "Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo" (M-F, 3-5 p.m. ET), and anchor and managing editor of the nationally syndicated "Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo," recently rated the most watched financial news program in America.  Both programs air globally on the CNBC network.

In 1995, Bartiromo became the first journalist to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on a daily basis.  She has covered Wall Street for 20 years.  Bartiromo joined CNBC in 1993 after five years as a producer, writer and assignment editor with CNN Business News.
